Scaff: Hmm, I'm intriuged. Will he be able to call upon the abilities he absorbs?
Houkou-NRL: The answer is yes. If he absorbs the power of a demon as he seals it, he'll be able to use that power whenever he wants later on. His claw right now, he got while sealing the wolf demon. So right now he's got that as well as his regular abilities. Once he's managed to absorb some more powers, he'll be able to use any of them whenever he needs them. ^^

Twgquick: whats with the cat? Is it a demon?
Houkou-NRL: Oh, the cat? Well, you're asking a bit much there. XD I don't want to spoil the plot. But aside, I'll try to answer any questions you have.

Twgquick: when the gate is opened what happens to the surroundings? Does the enviroment change at all?  Then when the gate is opened is that the only time demons can engage Kain?
Houkou-NRL: No. The environment wouldn't actually change. Basically, opening the gate allows him to use his powers. That's basically what happened in 1-1 when Cat released his powers and opened the gate. And demons can attack him whether the gate is open or not. But he needs to be able to use his powers in order to effectively fight against them.

Twgquick: Also if that is true that Kain is the gate wouldn't his parents be aware?
Houkou-NRL: As a Chosen, Kain has special powers, but, no, he nor his family would have known about it. This would apply to any Chosen. The only ones to know that someone was a Chosen would be members of the Overworld-Clearity Organization (OCO). For that matter, while you would have these powers, you wouldn't actually able to use them without a member of the OCO finding you and releasing them, and they would most likely have to forcefully open the gate, as Cat did. Really, it would be possible to be the Chosen and yet never learn of your powers, were there never a need for them nearby (meaning there were no demons around), or if the OCO was unable to confirm your location to send a member to release your powers.

Twgquick: and are the demons capable of speech?
Houkou-NRL: As for demons who are capable of human speech... I haven't actually thought about that one. I'll have to think on that. ^^'

Twgquick: whats the Overworld?
Houkou-NRL: There is the Overworld and there is Hell. The Overworld is basically the world Kain lives in. Though people from the Overworld don't tend to call it the such, they just call it the world, or whatnot. You know. How would we refer to our world? Those who are not from the Overworld, namely, those from Hell, or spend a large amount of time in Hell, would refer to Kain's world as the Overworld.

Twgquick: Ok but his powers don't really seem like a gate. Is there another ability to being a gate? Like the transporting of one thing from one place to another? Or allowing passage?
Houkou-NRL: Well, that's just how Cat put it, because he's the one with the power to seal the demons in the Overworld into Hell. As for abilities, as you might have guessed, he can use his shadow in order to attack or defend. Of course, you've only seen the basics, the essentials. For allowing passage, you could say that it'd allow passage from the Overworld to Hell, though you certainly wouldn't be able to come back the way you came!

Twgquick: You speak like there are many. How many gates are we talking about here?
Houkou-NRL: As Cat explained, the original Gate of Hell was locked, and is now only used by the OCO in order to travel between the Overworld and Hell. But, concerning the Chosen with the ability to seal a demon in Hell, who's powers allow them to act as a one-way gate there, there are many Chosen. Each one has that ability.

Twgquick: Are there others around, Non-Gates, that are able to see and fight demons?
Houkou-NRL: Yes, definitely. Cat only said that normal humans normally couldn't see demons, however, there are exceptions. There will definitely be a select few who can see demons, and there may be situations where other humans may be able to see them, as well. As for putting up a fight, for most people, that's very unlikely.

Twgquick: They say Kain was choosen but who chooses?
Houkou-NRL: That is a secret. ;)

Twgquick: Because the cat was capable of opening the gates does that make him/her one of the chosen? Or is that a secret? XD
Houkou-NRL: Asking about her identity again, eh? Well, if that's the case, then that's a secret, too! XD

Twgquick: He didn't see the demon until the gate was opened though. Can he see them without the gate being opened?
Houkou-NRL: Ah, I haven't explained that far yet. Well, you'll see that soon enough into the story, I think, so I'll let that one go by. As for the wolf demon, it wasn't nearby anyways, so he wouldn't have seen it whether he had that ability or not.

Twgquick: Is it possible for one of the chosen to be powerful enough to open their own gate? manifesting their own powers
Houkou-NRL: How do you mean? If you mean releasing their powers without having a member of the OCO do it, then the answer is no. The seal that prevents them from using their powers before they are unsealed is very powerful, too powerful for a Chosen who lacks the knoweledge and practice to break. After their powers have been released, however, they are able to use them on their own, without any help.

Twgquick: What are the choosen exactly? Are they still humans? WIth too many demons asorbed will they lose there origonal apperances?
Houkou-NRL: In a way, yes, they are completely human, although they possess a small amount of demonic power. It doesn't effect the Chosen at all until that power is unsealed, then begins to have influence after that. As you might guess, when a Chosen manages to absorb some of a demon's power during sealing, the amount of demonic power increases, thus increasing how much influence it can have. Absorbing a demon's powers doesn't necessarily mean that your appearance will change, or that you will gain new abilities (though it might, depending on how much power you managed to absorb), but that power still increases the influence. So even if you've absorbed a large amount of power, there may or may not be an effect on your appearance, although it will definitley have an influence on your behaviour.

Twgquick: Do demons always appear as animals ((one reason why i think the cat is a good demon))
Houkou-NRL: No, demons will not always take the form of an animal. You will see this later on in the story.

Twgquick: The cat has powers to open the gate of the chosen. Does that mean it has the power to close it by will?
Houkou-NRL: Yes, definitely. She could also seal his powers again, too. Cat can do quite a bit, and you'll likely see this later in the story. Not incredibly soon, however, as she will be absent. *spoiler!*

Twgquick: the OCO lives in the overworld right? Because you said that traveling back from hell is impossible
Houkou-NRL: I said that the power of the Chosen is a one-way gate, from the Overworld to Hell. If you were sealed in Hell that way, you wouldn't be able to come back the same way. The original Gate of Hell is a two-way gate, which can be used to travel between the Overworld and Hell, and that is its primary purpose now, for the OCO's needs. For where the OCO is situated, I will not bother explaining that, as it would be very detailed and likely reveal a lot about the plot. Sorry!
